For Giles painting is a way to express unconscious inner processes so that Giles looks at his paintings in the same way he remembers his dreams. They are his paintings but he does not control them consciously. The Perspectives Collection of paintings were all painted intuitively in this way with no intention to represent images of scenes or places. Whatever their meaning and message for the artist, these intensely alluring works provide the viewer with a complex, evocative and fascinating field of visual engagement.
